You will find a wide choice of places to visit, things to do and sights to see. We are within easy visiting distance of both Nottingham and Lincoln and both are accessible by train from Newark Castle Station, less than four miles away. Newark itself offers good food and many options for a pleasant day out with minimal travel, but if you feel like venturing further afield you might like to consider a day in York or the Derbyshire Dales. There is a Tourist Information office in Newark.

If racing gets your pulse racing too, we are close to Southwell, where you will also find the famous minster, the Workhouse, this site of the original Bramley apple tree and a shopping centre with different shops including an old fashioned sweet shop as well as excellent eating opportunities. Also in the area are race courses at Doncaster, Utoxeter and Nottingham and greyhound racing at Nottingham.

If you prefer the countryside and all it has to offer, we are only a short drive from Laxton, the last Open Field strip farming system in the country governed by a manorial court and jury and from Sherwood Forest, reputedly the home of Robin Hood and his merry men. There are more beautiful walks and refreshment stops in both Rufford and Clumber parks.
